Nichora support

Nichora saves each wallpaper to your Photos at your iPhone’s full screen resolution. iOS doesn’t let apps change your wallpaper themselves, so the last step is yours.

Setting a wallpaper

  1. Save it in Nichora.
  2. Touch and hold your Lock Screen, then tap + and Photos.
  3. Pick the newest photo.

You can also go to Settings › Wallpaper › Add New Wallpaper › Photos.

Saving doesn’t work

Nichora needs permission to add photos: Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos › Nichora › Add Photos Only.

Depth-ready wallpapers

Wallpapers marked Depth-ready have their subject rising into the clock. In the Lock Screen editor, tap ••• and turn on Depth Effect to lift the subject over the time.

Live wallpapers

Abstract wallpapers can be saved as Live Photos. When you set one, make sure the Live Photo button in the Lock Screen editor is on; the motion plays as you wake your iPhone.

Using the images elsewhere

Most of the collection is public domain or CC0 and free for any use. Images from ESA/Webb and ESA/Hubble are licensed CC BY 4.0, so reusing them needs the credit shown with each one. Every wallpaper’s info page in the app shows its licence.

Something’s wrong with a wallpaper?

If a wallpaper is miscredited, looks wrong or shouldn’t be there, tell us its title and we’ll fix it.
